On July 9, the European Neighbourhood Chair organized an end-of-presidency discussion titled “Is European Integration Still on the Table for the Eastern Partnership”. The event took place within the framework of the REUNIR project at the College of Europe in Natolin.
The panel of speakers included:
– Radosław Darski, Deputy Director of the European Policy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland
– Adam Łazowski, Professor of EU Law at the University of Westminster (London) and European Neighbourhood Chairholder, College of Europe (Natolin)
– Mirna Vlasic Feketija, Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Croatia in Sweden
During the discussion, the panel focused on the priorities of the Polish government, as reflected in the motto of Poland’s EU Council Presidency: “Security, Europe!”. The Presidency, which ran from January 1 to June 30, 2025, emphasized a broad concept of security – extending beyond military aspects to include economic, energy, cyber, informational, health, and food security. The panel explored how these priorities shaped the Presidency’s approach and were reflected in its actions, particularly in relation to the Eastern Partnership.
The panel addressed developments in enlargement policy and Poland’s bilateral engagement with Eastern Partnership countries, with a focus on the tools and formats used to foster cooperation and enhance resilience. In addition to the Eastern Partnership, the speakers also discussed the current state of EU accession negotiations with the Western Balkans and Turkey.
