REUNIR Confessionals

In our next video, Ambassador Daniela Morari, Head of the Mission of Moldova to the EU, offers her insights on the key external threats facing Moldova and how the country continues to strengthen its resilience in response, answering:

How do you assess the most important external threats to Moldova and its resilience to these external threats?

Ambassador Morari reflects on Moldova’s recent electoral cycle, marked by unprecedented external interference. Despite these pressures, Moldova demonstrated remarkable resilience, securing strong public support for its continued path toward EU integration. Strengthening institutional capacity, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity, hybrid threat response, and information integrity has been crucial to this effort.

She highlights Moldova’s active collaboration with European partners, including through the EU Partnership Mission, cyber response teams, and other support instruments that enhance awareness and rapid reaction to evolving challenges. Tackling cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns, and illicit financial influence remains an ongoing priority to strengthen democratic institutions and ensure stability.

Drawing on lessons learned from recent elections and institutional reforms, Moldova stands ready to share its experiences with other countries facing similar threats. This spirit of openness and cooperation highlights the importance of building collective resilience across Europe.
